I Will Not Cut My Beard Until Covid-19 Goes-Jerry Rawlings. The Former Military Dictator and subsequent politician, Jerry John Rawlings has given his reason why he had allowed his hair and beard to grow more than usual.

The Former President disclosed that until the Pandemic Corona virus which began in China and spread to other countries and has also killed millions of people is over, he will not trim his hair either will he shave his beard.

Jerry John Rawlings as we all know has been known for keeping his hair and beard since 1981. The year he emerged and took over the country and it seems he is not ready to trim it down not for any reason. He became the first President of the Fourth Republic in Ghana. He was later re-elected in 1996 for four more years. After two terms in office, the limit according to the Ghana constitution, Rawlings endorsed his vice-president John Atta Mills as presidential candidate in 2000. He currently serves as the African Union envoy to Somalia.

John Jerry when being interviewed yesterday said:

“Ladies and gentlemen…“for those of you who are wondering about this Moses brush, if you want, call it Moses broom.

“Since the president [Akufo-Addo] has decided, he will use his shaven head to get rid of Covid-19, I will use [my] Moses’ brush [hair] to get rid of it and when it happens, then I think we can go back to our normal look.”

In an interview on Asaase FM yesterday Sunday, 5 July 2020, Rawlings revealed that he will not trim his hair and beard until the pandemic is over.

He further added that:

“I wanted to provide evidence that I was also hibernating and I have decided until it goes, this hair won’t go.

“As soon as it goes, yes.”
