Minister of Humanitarian Affairs Accompanied by the Honorable Minister, Women Affairs Dame Pauline K. Tallen OFR, KSG paid a courtesy call on His Excellency Governor of Plateau State, Simon Lalong.
Minister of Humanitarian Affairs flagged-off the Grant for Rural Women programme which was introduced to sustain the social inclusion agenda of His Excellency
Muhammadu Buhari Administration, including the realization of the national aspiration of lifting 100 million Nigerians out of poverty in 10 years.
It is designed to provide a one-off grant to some of the poorest and most vulnerable women in rural Nigeria. A grant of N20, 000.00 will be disbursed to over 150,000 poor rural women across the 36 States of the Federation and the Federal Capital Territory.
The Honorable Minister acknowledged the leadership quality of His Excellency, Simon Lalong Plateau State and all the wonderful work he has been doing for the good people of Plateau State.
She also acknowledged the immense contribution of the Honorable Minister of Women Affairs, Dame Pauline K. Tallen to ensuring that this program takes-off and the expected results are achieved.
She also presented to governor, Simon Lalong over 3000 metric tonnes of assorted grains from the National Food Reserve, approved by His Excellency, President as a palliative for distribution to vulnerable persons (aged, people living with disabilities and Persons of Concerns)affected by the impact of the spread of COVID-19 pandemic in Plateau State.
