Nigerian Military Neutralizes armed Bandits in kaduna: On June 5, 2020. A combined effort of ground and air offensive troops of operations THUNDER STRIKE a troop under operation ACCORD joined other troops of 312 Artillery Regiment as well as local Vigilantes carried out a clearance patrol  leading all the way to the kachia Forest. This patrol lead to the neutralization of some armed bandits who were also cattle rustlers. The operation was based on timely credible information on the operations and movement of the group in the area. The troop went after the bandits through Gadin Maikeri community in Chikun Local government Area all the way into the forest. Haven located the location of the bandits; the troop engaged the bandits with the air force helicopter gunships. This lead to the killing of seventy (70) bandits, leaving several of them to escape with severe bullet wounds. The troops are still exploring the forest hoping to catch the fled bandits.

Based on this, as a matter of security concern, people in this general area should report those with sudden and suspicious injuries to the security forces. This is to ensure that the escapees are mopped up. In another development, troops of Operation YAKI in blocking positions for Operation ACCORD at outskirts of Kankomi village have apprehended 2 bandits’ logistics suppliers. Items recovered include: recharge cards, cigarettes, soft drinks and groceries.

The Military High Command congratulates Operation THUNDER STRIKE, Operation YAKI and Air Component of Operation ACCORD, for their dexterity. While the general public is requested to continue to provide timely and credible information that would assist in eliminating bandits and other criminal elements in the Country.
